ABOUT US

When we set out to build Green Body we knew we wanted to create a place where anyone could come and be supported in their journey to health.
We didn’t want to be a DIY gym.
We didn’t want to do generic, same-same, cardio group classes.
We didn’t want to focus purely on weight lifting or pushing everyone to lift the heaviest weights possible.
We didn’t want an image focused culture.
We didn’t want people sitting out exercises because they were injured.
We didn’t want our members thinking so short term….

What we DO want, and what we work toward every day inside of Green Body, is to give YOU the environment, the tools, the knowledge and the support that you need to create for yourself,
A New Future.

Green Body is a place where YOU get to decide which direction your life is going in.
Green Body is a place where YOU get to choose how your life looks in 5 years time.
Green Body is a place where YOU get to re-write your own story.
And so The Green Body Method is one of Longevity above all else.
Sound good?

kelly moriartyK

Kelly is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and runs the yoga studio at Green Body. She also runs an online nutrition coaching business called The Green Body Plan. Kelly was a veterinary surgeon for 5 years. After deciding that the profession and lifestyle weren’t for her she began studying and teaching yoga. Kelly’s knowledge of anatomy, health and illness stems from her science degree and experience as a doctor, a lot of those skills transferring into an ability to observe imbalances and help her students practically in class. Kelly has completed teacher training with senior Iyengar yoga teacher Pixie Lillas.

(Iyengar yoga is a particular type of yoga known for its precision in timing, sequencing and alignment plus its therapeutic value.)

Things you might not know about Kelly:

  • When she was little she wanted to be a Greenpeace warrior and save the whales (she still does)
  • Kelly has listened to a lioness’s heart, taken a blood sample from a tiger, performed an ultrasound on a Galapagos Island Tortoise, taken the temperature of a maned wolf, monitored the anaesthetic of various Australian mammals and treated wounds on numerous humpback whales!
  • She sings in a band called ‘A Secret Chord’
  • She is a self-proclaimed introvert and she needs regular quiet time. Don’t expect her to answer her phone after hours – she’s probably out pottering in the garden with her cup of tea!

Qualifications: BVSc (UQ), Cert 3 & 4 fitness (Personal Trainer), Dip Adult nutrition, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher

Kelly and Andy believe in a holistic approach to health. Quality nutrition, a balance of muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness, good mobility and an emphasis on stress management and a healthy mind. We do not encourage the use of numerous bodybuilding supplements, fad diets and focusing on image and aesthetics, but we do believe that everyone should have the opportunity to practice health and fitness in a supportive and knowledgeable environment.
